Learning from the wise

“Is there anyone so wise as to learn by the experience of others?”–Voltaire

One learns not just from books but from the lives of great people.   True education is one that teaches an individual to treat each day as a learning experience, to observe the world closely and glean lessons from the lives of others.

This is the reason why Badri High School invites the learned and accomplished members of the Dawoodi Bohra community to come and share their inspiring life experiences with the students here.

In the past a distinguished assortment of scholars, professionals, office bearers, social workers and students have been invited to give motivating talks to the senior students of BHS and the students have always been duly enraptured by the biographies of these living legends.

One such erudite member of the community visited the BHS premises on Monday, 8th October 2018. Shaikh Ghulam Abbas Cyclewala, one of the most experienced Chemical Engineers of Pakistan, consultant, businessman, educationist, spokesman, artist, traveler and philanthropist, recently published his riveting autobiography titled CHEMAGE: LEARN+EARN+RETURN. After Sh. Ghulam Abbas was welcomed in the assembly early Monday morning he was introduced by the Principal Janab Sh. Hashim bhai and later he met with the students of Class 9-10 in the Computer Lab.

In one hour, he shared the incredible journey of his thrilling life and the innumerable hurdles he had to overcome to attain the position he stands at today. The children were hanging onto each word as he told them about the struggles of his childhood and how perseverance pays off. He led the students through the highs and lows of his ambitious youth and inspired them to live their dreams. Through his eyes the children learnt about the Karachi of yore and its progress through the last several decades. He counseled them regarding their future and helped them devise a strategy to attain their goals, all the while advising them to the ambitious, focused and daring.

We are privileged to be part of a community where a great number of learned men are generous to share their experiences so that the youth may learn from the foibles and derive inspiration from their accomplishments.

The Best of Deen and Duniya

This morning was a reflection of what Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS envisages a community school to be able to achieve. On one hand stood the eighth Hafiz of school; the fourth of this Academic Year 2018-19. On the other, stood the student who had secured the highest percentage in the SSC Part 2 examination.

Burhanuddin Zulfiqar of class 8 became the eighth Hafiz of the school and was bestowed with garlands of appreciation while Husain Murtaza (Class 10 batch of 2017-18) was lauded for his hard work and A1 grade in the Board Examination.

Burhanuddin himself is an example of how a child from a simple family, can achieve a dream coveted by thousands today—the dream to Hifz the Quran e Majeed. He is a playful and energetic child who has held onto his dream of becoming a Hafiz for a year and a half, forging ahead with dedication and a positive attitude. Burhanuddin is one who does not believing in ensconcing himself in a room to Hifz but has achieved a perfect balance in his social and academic life. He prays in the masjid three times and has a plethora of friends due to his jovial nature.

Last week, too, Ibrahim Yousuf of class 7 became a Hafiz after giving the complete Quran Ikhtibaar to Shahzada Husain Bhai sahib DM increasing the enthusiasm to perform Hifzul Quran in BHS to a feverish pitch.

Badri High School is dedicated to providing the best of secular and spiritual education to the students of the community since the last 50 years. It is driven by the ethos that guides all community schools of providing the best knowledge in the light of the Ilm of Ale Mohammed SA.

For this aim to be achieved the Deeniyat and Secular staff work in liaison and cooperation to ensure the Taleem as well as the Tarbiyat of the children of momineen who are the future of the community. The barakat of the Qudoom of the 53rd Dai al Mutlaq Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin in 2016 has ushered in another revival in the institute. During this visit Aali Qadr Maula TUS inaugurated the Hifz Room and since then eight students have achieved the status of Hafiz ul Quran. With this is the best facilities and facilitators providing instruction in secular subjects, language development, extra-curricular activities and recently STEM education through Robotics, Mind Math and Arduino.

May Allah Subhanuhu help us to lovingly nurture each student at Badri High School in light of the lofty vision of Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS.

Orientation 2018-19-Over a Cup of Tea

There is nothing like a cup of freshly brewed tea and biting into a biscuit early in the morning to put one in the right frame of mind. Ken Cohen has rightly said, “A cup of tea is a cup of peace!”

Early Saturday morning on 4th August 2018 the scent of tea and the concerned voices of teachers and parents could be heard through the three floors at Badri High School as they came together to orient themselves for yet another thrilling and prosperous year.

An orientation is important as a right beginning is vital to getting the entire year off to a remarkable start. For this Academic Year 2018-19 the parents were divided into two groups to come in at two time slots and invited into their children’s classrooms to listen to the plans and policies for the new year ahead. The orientation was planned a week after school started as we wished to give the parents and students a chance to experience the working of the school’s systems.

The class teachers addressed the parents and even answered individual queries and took in suggestions and concerns. It was an opportunity for the parent and teacher to meet one-on-one and discuss the most pertinent issue before them—that of their children’s personal and academic progress.

Teachers had also planned interactive sessions in each class with a specific objective for each activity. Play Group teachers made a yarn web & parents got a chance to talk about their children. It helped emphasize the importance of being connected as well. Reception’s activity emphasized how each child perceives differently’ the Juniors class teachers wanted to drive home the importance of letting children draw themselves. Seniors teachers had 2 activities on the importance of language & consistency in learning.

At BHS we believe strongly in strengthening the Parent-Tecaher-Student triangle and continue to endeavor to communicate effectively and regularly with parents via forums like Ilmversity.

The morning was pleasantly spent; productively and positively utilized to provide a road map for the entire year. Arthur Wing Pinero has rightly said, “Where there is tea, there is hope!”

Academic Year 2018-19 begins with Ashara Ohbat Majlis

The cries of Ya Husain AS filled the courtyard  of Badri High School as 31st July marked the date of the inception of the Academic Year 2018-19. And what a beginning it proved to be.  The day was reflection of the fact that it is the sorrow of Imam Husain AS which is the essence of all knowledge.
Usually the year begins with Darees of Syedna Hatim RA,  Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA and Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA.  This year Janab Naeem Bhaisaheb guided the team at BHS to begin with year with Noha and Aweel Majlis as the lives of these Duaat Mutleqeen RA and Mawali Kiraam have revolved around the sorrow and zikr of Imam Husain AS and Ahle Bait AS.
Early Tuesday morning, the students performed purjosh Matam and rendered the heart wrenching Shahadat of Imam Husain AS in Arabic. The vision for the future was cleansed and watered for prosperity by the tears of the students. With Matam these young hearts were purified and opened their doors to let in the light of knowledge.
One of the highlights of the event was appreciating the first Hafizul Quran of the academic year,  Zainab Shk Fakhruddin of class 7. She was awarded a Karbala Ziyarat ticket on behalf of the school.
The Ohbat Majlis was followed by a prize distribution ceremony acknowledging the high achievers of the previous Academic Year 2017-18.
We offer gratitude to Janab Naeem Bhaisaheb who has always made the progress of Badri High School his priority. Despite arriving in Karachi late Monday night Syedi Saheb arrived with his usual punctual precision and addressed the gathering of students to inspire them and motivate the BHS team.
We are sure that with the tasbeeh of Ya Husain AS our entire year is geared towards prosperity and unparalleled progress. With a record number of new admissions this year,  2018-19 will Inshallah be a memorable year with a memorable start!

THE GRADUATING CLASS OF BHS PERFORMS KUN SAFAR

It was 11:30 pm on the 26th of June 2018 but the street outside Burhani Bagh, Haidry was bustling with activity as 44 students of the graduating class of Badri High School piled into buses, along with 10 khidmat guzaars and teachers, which were to take them to the Jinnah International Airport for their flight to Najaf.

The excitement in the air was palpable as teary eyed parents bid their children farewell. Some had made their passports for the first time and were excited to sit in a plane. Some were the first in their families to travel to the blessed land of Karbala. Needless to say, it was a thrilling moment as the Fly Dubai flight took off into the early morning skies as dawn broke.

Hearts thumped as the plane touched the Najaf Airport runway at 9 am. After a quick immigration the students were taken to the Faiz e Burhani where they were given luxurious rooms to freshen up. The first time the children stepped into the Haram Mubarak of Maulana Ali AS it was 3 pm. Yet the blinding light of the sun paled in front of the splendor and majesty of the golden-domed premises.

The next four days were spent with Imamat Fajar Namaz being offered at the magnificent Masjid e Kufa where the students also got the opportunity to perform Ziyarat of Mehrab—the place of the martyrdom of Maulana Ali AS, as well as the ziyarat of the Maulana Muslim bin Aqueel AS and Maulana Hani bin Urwa AS.

For the students the experience of connecting history and the riwayaat they had heard all their lives of Maulana Ali AS and his ashaab like Maulana Masiam bin Tamaar AS, Maulana Rushaid ul Hajari and Maulana Kumail bin Ziyad AS was a memorable experience. As they walked through the pillared corridors of Masjid e Kufa and heard the tales of devotion of Ashaab of Maulana Ali AS their hearts filled with awe and gratitude.

On 29th June 2018 the group reached Karbala Moalla. Just entering the Haram Mubarak of Imam Husain AS caused tears to pour down everyone’s cheeks. We could not believe we were finally here in one of the realms of heaven.  As our foreheads touched the Zarih of Imam Husain we felt gratitude to have been beckoned  to a place where destinies are altered and prayers are answered. The imposing Haram of Maulana Abbas AS left us awestruck.

In the days that followed the students visited the Khaimah Gah where the Zikr of Imam Husain AS, Ahle Bait and Ashaab made everyone weep. We also performed Ziyarat of Nabi Hood AS and Saleh AS, visited Imam Jaffar us Sadiq’s AS Waari and Burhanuddin Maula’s RA farmhouse where the students and other zaireen prayed Imamat Namaz and enjoyed lunch.

On one of the last days in Karbala the students had the good fortune to sit in Huzoorala’s TUS Gurfa Mubaraka and discuss the impact to the trip as well as resolve to make changes in their lives when they returned home. This was one time when they revealed exactly how moved they had been by their experience. Some students talked about praying for their parents who had saved up for months to send them for this pilgrimage. Many thanked the principal Janab Sh Hashim bhai and the school administration for this life changing Ziyarat experience.

This is the second year that the Grade 10 that graduates has been taken for the KUN safar. The concept behind taking this class for this auspicious pilgrimage is for them to be blessed as they enter a momentous phase of the academic life in college as well as their future careers.

In the course of these nine days the students performed Ziyarats and experienced spiritual fulfillment. They learnt to be independent and enjoyed cooperating with each other in simple tasks like keeping their rooms clean and doing the laundry. They learnt discipline and time management and managing money as they travelled and shopped for their loved ones. For these 44 students this was a perfect Ohbat experience and prepared them for the Noha and Aweel that they vowed to perform during Ashara Mubaraka and the entire year round.

With the exams coming to an end on the 12th of May the students of Badri High School were at the acme of celebration and freedom. And in such a season of festivities, the Robo League planned for Monday 14th May was the proverbial cherry on top.

After days of planning, meetings and deliberations between BHS’s Robotics coordinators and the partners at Robotics Lab, the 12 best teams were selected and all geared up for the final sumo bot battle on 14th May.

As the blue and silver balloons fluttered in the morning air, two teams at a time stepped from the prep area into the arena to let their programmed bots battle it out. The thrill was tangible as the teams were cheered on by the students, parents and guests alike.

After a grueling semifinal round, four finalists (Dark Side, Dark Knight, Transformers 3 and Three Girls) were ready to battle their bots to death. A nail biting finish it proved to be in which Dark Side comprising of the boys of class 7 emerged as the winners.

Certificates were awarded to all the students of class 5,6 and 7 who had completed two levels of Robotics in the academic year 2017-18. The students in their 9-month old journey learnt not only how to integrate the knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math with real life applications but also blossomed in confidence and mastered collaboration. These life skills are sure to pave their way to a bright and successful future.

Apart from the Robotics display, Arduino and its line-following robot designed by two teachers of BHS as part of their entry in a competition at a private university, attracted the guests.

The visitors, which included the faculty, heads and mentors of other schools, lauded the meticulous organization of the event as well as the passionate involvement of the students. This open-for-all event was the first, but certainly not the last, Robo League at BHS.

We wish to thank all the well-wishers and sponsors of BHS as well as the parents whose enthusiasm was a driving force for us in our Robotics initiative. For the next Academic Year 2018-19 we hope to start off with STEAM PARK for the Pre Primary, Mind Math in the Primary and Robotics and Arduino in the Secondary Section to make sure that every student at BHS gets to experience the addictive flavor of STEM education which is certainly the education of the future.

BHS HOSTS INTERSCHOOL THROWBALL MATCH

At BHS we strongly believe in providing equal physical fitness opportunities to both boys and girls. Regular physical exercise is vital for the well-being of a girl’s body, mind, and spirit. Unfortunately, in our part of the world girls in their teens get limited opportunities to play in team sports especially after Secondary School and college. It is the school’s responsibility to provide the girls such opportunities to build stamina and sportsmanship and this responsibility we take quite seriously.

Sports like throw ball incorporates working with coaches and teammates to win games and meet goals which is great practice for success later in life. Being a team player can make it easier to work with others and solve problems, whether on the field or in your personal and professional life.

On Thursday 10th May 2018, Badri High School invited Bahria Foundation College and Ladybird School for a friendly throw ball match. After a tour of the school premises the teams were taken to the Al Jamea tus Saifiyah, Sports Ground, Khaimat ur Riyazat.

Each match comprised of two rounds of 10 points each. The first match was played between BHS and Ladybird which BHS won effortlessly in straight games. The second was played between BHS and Bahria which was more of a nail-biting contest but in that too BHS came out victorious.

The team of BHS ten girls exhibited great coordination and focus and impressed their peers with their skills. The visiting school thanked the BHS sports staff for their invitation and looked forward to more such events in future.

When one of the BHS players was asked about her experience today she said, “I learnt that playing sports can give you confidence, help you deal with pressure and lift your mood. Plus, it’s great to be part of a team who support you both on and off the field.”

HOW TO BE A SMARTER PARENT

“Together we can give your child the roots to grow stronger and the wings to fly.”

The Parent-Teacher-Student triangle works effectively when parents and teachers are working towards the same goal, with the same strategies.

A one-hour workshop for the parents of Class 9-10 was arranged at BHS on Friday, 27th April 2018 from 8:30 to 9:30 am. Sir Sadiq Merchant, who is a renowned educationist and trainer with a teaching experience of nearly 30 years, was invited to speak to the parents.

It was heartening to see an overwhelming  98% attendance of parents-fathers and mothers both– who thronged into the Hifz ul Quran room.

Sir Sadiq, in his engaging and eloquent style, spoke about how parenting is a full-time job and how every child needs a separate formula to be raised as he is a unique individual. He categorized parents into four genres and the traits they possess along with the outcomes of possessing such parenting traits.

In class 9-10 students find themselves at the threshold of their careers and this is the time they are also bombarded with physical and mental changes. This is also the stage they need the maximum support of the parents and teachers. He explained how teens need attention and bonding time.

Sir also spoke to the Class 10 students about not getting carried away by peer pressure and distracted by social media. He guided the parents to help them create a time table for all members of the family and spoke about having the correct eating habits for children.

He ended on how it is important to trust the school and its policies and work hand in hand to ensure the success of the children. The parents walked away effusively thanking Sir Sadiq and the school administration who had personally called each parent to confirm their attendance. They hoped this would be a turning point in their relationship with their children and that the school would continue to hold such sessions involving parents.

YOUNG ORATORS BLOSSOM AT THE POETRY ELOCUTION

The beginning of March saw the students of Class 6, 7 and 8 poring through the poetry anthologies in the BHS library in their quest for a classic poem to recite in the final elocution of the year. After tumultuous trials taken in all classes, finally 42 participants were short listed to perform in the final elocution held on Friday 16th March 2018.

Since the beginning of the academic year, several elocutions have been held throughout the Secondary Section. Such focus on oratory skills, especially on poetry recitation is because poetry as an art breaks across grammar and syntax to create something new and imaginative for the children and succeeds in creating a love for the language. Research reveals that reading rhyming poetry out loud makes it easier for younger children to learn new vocabulary words. The rhythmic structure of the stanzas creates a known context for unknown words.

Through the fortnight while the English language teachers rehearsed with these 42 students, the students not only memorized these classic poems and learnt about reputed poets like Blake, Frost and Shakespeare but also began to comprehend the nuances of pitch, voice inflection, and volume. Reciting poetry helped them place emphasis on the sound and the rhythm of language, thus building their phonemic awareness.
collage 1
The young orators learnt to pick up patterns and sequences in the poems they recited developing their memorization skills. Linguistic experts share that this ability to pick patterns will eventually aid them in learning new languages, reading comprehension and mathematics.

Yet, the greatest outcome of every elocution has been the confidence which the children have felt when they were given the freedom to express feelings to their audience.  A variety of emotions were played out on stage from melancholy to humour; from heartbreak to bereavement; from love to patriotism. Infused with expression these classic poems were brought to life. The use of gestures and facial expressions helped them enthrall their audience.

Alefiya Sh. Esmail, who is a writer and poet in English, Arabic and Urdu as well as an educationist, was invited to judge the event. She shared her feedback regarding the event saying, “I was fortunate to have witnessed the young elocutionists of Badri High School in their full glory the past week. I saw students of secondary school dishing out verse after verse, from the absolute classics, to the anonymous poetry that we have all grown up on. And what a joy it was to behold! How lovely it was to hear young Taher Sh Mohammed of Grade VIII reciting Shakespeare’s Seven Ages of Man with such mastery! What great fun it was to watch Amatullah Aliasgher of Grade VII animatedly recite Faith Trekson’s Mother and the Mouse! And most of all, what an awesome performance Hatim Mustafa of (again of Grade VII) gave for If I Die!

These are but some names from many; truth be told, each and every participant was a winner in their own right.

What has deeply impressed me was the gusto with which the students participated in this competition. They performed beautifully, paying great attention to diction, delivery and body language. Some of these wonderful students were flawless, and a few seem ripe for any of the best spoken word platforms for their age group.

BHS has come a long way in the last couple of years, and it gives one great joy to be privy to its remarkable journey. The competitive spirit of its students, the bonhomie they share, and the inclusive atmosphere of this school were on full display in this competition. Here’s wishing these bright young students and their teachers all the very best in all their learning endeavors.”

Plunging head-first into the world of Arduino at BHS

The 20th of March opened up the world of Arduino to Grade 8 students as a test run was carried out to this open-source electronics prototyping platform for them. This comes after the resounding success of Robotics for Grade 5-7 which has opened up limitless horizons for the students to prepare them to take on the technology-oriented world of tomorrow.

Arduino was discovered at the GESS Dubai Fair attended this year by one of the Science teachers Sir Ibrahim Shabbir. After buying a kit for himself, which he thoroughly enjoyed assembling, he planned to bring this to the students of class 8 who were eager to learn something new.

The objective to begin this easy-to-use hardware and software is to let the students understand how the modern world works through sensors. Students continue to be fascinated by the working of computers that power everyday objects like microwave ovens and washing machines. Arduino answers questions that students pose regarding how robots and computers work.

The first session was also attended by a few ex-BHS students who are now NED students who were more than happy to play a part in the progress of their alma mater. The team of engineers worked hands-on to help students learn how to program and how to build amazing interactive objects. The pupils learnt to follow well-documented and simple instructions as they assembled their first project of LED lights.

arduino

Imran, one of the engineers shared, “This course is being taught in Engineering colleges and its wonderful that our students are being taught to be ahead of the fast-moving times.”

Arduino is intended for artists, designers, hobbyists and anyone interested in creating interactive objects or developing environments.

Arduino can sense its environment by receiving inputs from sensors, and interact with its environment by controlling lights, motors, or other actuators. The Arduino integrated development environment (IDE) is a cross-platform application written in Java, and is derived from the IDE for the Processing programming language and wiring projects. It can run independently and communicate with other software such as Flash, Processing, MaxMSP and more.

When the World is your Classroom

Saturdays are meant to be a source of rejuvenation and that’s exactly what the 10th of February was for the students of the Secondary Section of BHS. Different classes were taken to an assortment of places where they vowed to learn from their environment making the world their classroom; each experience being their best teacher.

Early in the morning, with the air crisp and the sun mellowing the chill, the students of Class 6 set off to Wazir Mansion, the birthplace of Quaid e Azam located in the quaint locality of Kharadar. The students were taken early in the morning to beat the hustle bustle of this area. They were enchanted by the home and personal belongings of the great leader and listened attentively to their guide.

This was followed by an excursion to the National Museum where they saw an interesting kaleidoscope of the culture and history of Pakistan in the vibrant Quranic gallery, Cultural gallery, Buddha gallery and the Moen jo Daro Gallery.

At 10:00 am an excited class 8 left for the Beach Luxury Hotel to revel in the festivities of the Karachi Literature Festival. They drank in the literati present at the beachside rendezvous where many acclaimed authors launched their books and opened up horizons through their panel discussions.

The trip showed the students how literature opens our eyes and makes us see more than just what the front door shows. It helped students understand the wide world outside. It encouraged them to learn, ask questions, and build intuitions and instincts.

Yet the highlight of the event was the reading of Shakespearian masterpieces by the literary maestro Zia Mohiyuddin.  The students enjoyed renditions from Romeo and Juliet, The Merchant of Venice, Hamlet and Seven Ages of man (As you Like It), many of which they have read as part of their literature course. The day helped students to find symbols, make connections, find themes, and learn about Shakespearian characters. They looked at the extracts with a larger sense of detail and depth and realized the importance of hidden meanings.

At BHS, teaching and learning goes beyond the walls of the classroom because we try to equip the students with the lens and perspective to look at the world in such a way that each moment brings with it life-long lessons. The Seniors of Grade 10 presented confidently at the Maaraz- Raf ul Mustawa where they had the unique opportunity to interact with Abnaul Jamea tus Saifiyah and momineen. The students of class 7, 9 and 10 were also accompanied by their teachers to view this spectacular Maaraz at the Al Jamea tus Saifiya Auditorium.   This life-changing experience uplifted these young souls which will be visible in many facets of their personal and academic lives.

A Coming-Together to Foster Learning

While the teachers remained neck-deep in result making and planning for the second term, everyone was thrilled to attend the special in-house training session arranged on Thursday 28th December 2017.

Janab Sh Hatim Gulam Abbasbhai from Al Jamea tus Saifiyah, Karachi inspired the team at BHS with a one hour session on Teaching in the Light of Wahye (Revelation). He shared his experience in teaching Uloom Kauneya (exact sciences) and reminded the teachers that the aim of education is to recognize and acknowledge the existence of Allah and offer gratitude to him. He spoke at length about referring to the Quran-the fountainhead of knowledge- to begin each lesson. He also shared a few handouts of Science lessons from the Uloome Kawneya books which opened up new horizons for the BHS facilitators.

This engrossing session was followed by a half an hour talk by Janab Sh Mustafa Hakimuddin, Principal of Saifiya Girls School, on the use of Butterfly EduFields’ STEM LEARNING SCIENCE KITS, which are being used in 9000+ schools by 11,00,000+ students. He generously shared his thoughts on how the use of these hands-on kits has revolutionised the manner of imparting knowledge at SGS.

This valuable twin in-house session aimed to help incorporate Muntalaqe Islami as well as STEM education in classroom teaching enabling our facilitators to create a perfect balance of Deen and Duniya.

Milad u Nabi SAW Festivities at BHS

The air was filled with the sounds of the lilting rendition of Qasaid and Naat e Rasool SAW as the students of Badri High School gathered in the assembly for Milad u Nabi SAW celebrations. The remarkable voices of the Class 9 students led by Taha Murtaza enchanted the assembled spectators. Class 8 boys, never to be left behind, also recited a soulful Naat as well as ‘Ai Allah na Dai’ in remembrance of the 52nd Dai al Mutlaq Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA whose Urus Mubarak will be held on the 16th of Rabi ul Awal. It was enjoyable to see an enactment by Class 6B students based on Rasulallah’s SAW Hadith on how back biting (Gheebat) should be avoided and how it leads to an unhealthy social environment.

The day came to an apt end as the Primary teachers prepared a delicious Kalamra for the entire school and invited all the students and staff to partake from the delectable Rabi ul Awal speciality which is a wholesome dessert made from rice, sugar and yogurt.

Session on Study Tactics Impresses Senior Students

It was a working Saturday at BHS and the students made the most of it with aninteractive session on ‘How to Change your Study Tactics’ conducted by a senior Science teacher of the Secondary Section,Sir Amjad Ayub. Sir Amjad has been part of the group of teachers from Badri High School who has actively participated in the ‘Badal Do’ sessions. His initiative to conduct a session springs from the philosophy of bringing about change within ourselves.

As the midterm exams loom and the pressure on the senior students mounts, Sir Amjad aptly demonstrated how much time a student should spend on studies and what study tactics to adopt. He emphasized upon the importance of time and also on strategies to make optimum use of one’s time. He shared success stories and videos of people who have brought about a change in their lifestyle to become more successful.

The students were motivated by the 40 minute session and left feeling rejuvenated. Lessons in time management and working effectively using ones available resources are skills which are developed at a young age but will aid these students for the rest of their

lives.
